Carsten Eckensberger is employed by Hewlett-Packard GmbH in Germany for 35 years. For more than 10 years he is managing the Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits organization for D-A-CH. As a senior executive, he is responsible for the company pension scheme, salary increase and bonus programs, as well as for all employee benefits. Particularly high priority is currently given to wellbeing programs, which serve to promote the health of our employees.
Previously he was responsible for operational HR management in Germany, with responsibility for additional countries being gradually transferred to him. Strategic development of benefits, participation in the introduction of a global HR system architecture and the implementation of legal requirements for the countries transferred to him, implementation of a global employee portal including manager and employee self services and the establishment of a European shared service center in Poland are probably the most interesting highlights of his HR work to date.
Prior to his HR time, he has built up broad expertise within organizations such as Finance, Supply Chain Management, IT and Inventory Management.
EMEA Director for Rewards and Benefits at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Having joined Compaq in Dublin as HR administrator, I moved across multiple HR functions including HR Business Partner and ultimately into Compensation and Benefits where I am a proven strategic human resources leader working as a key contributor in delivering attractive, competitive and compliant benefits and compensation to over 30 countries and 20000+ employees in Europe, Middle East and Africa. With 20+ years of experience in global, matrix and diverse organisation, and experience gained across a range of HR roles in Ireland and internationally, I partner, influence, and collaborate with the business, COEs and stakeholders to gain trust and credibility by applying solid professional knowledge, empathy and integrity in every challenge we face. I’m passionate about my job and specifically about Wellness @ HPE. At HPE we don’t just invest in programmes, we encourage our team members and allow them time and flexibility to DO what they need.
Having worked in Compensation and Benefits for the last 15 years, I love the variety of the role. Each day brings a new challenge and focus, from ensuring compliance across all benefits and compensation, to driving new benefits forward, working to support team members in fast moving markets or critical situation or driving a diverse wellness programme. I’m specifically passionate about our Wellness Programme and at HPE we recognise that this a journey unique to each person so we try to cater to as many team members and their families as possible. The HPE Global Wellness Program provides best-in-class programs, resources, and education for total well-being -addressing team members and their family’s physical, financial, mental, and community well-being needs. Being able to drive these programme forward for EMEA is immensely rewarding - seeing results which clearly show the direct impact on team members lives and how my team make a difference every day.
